A local organization, Santa’s Helpers, is partnering with the Prince William County Police Department to collect toys for the holiday season for the Foundation of the Marine’s Toys for Tots.
Residents of Woodbridge may want to help out with this toy drive. Poster printing can be used at key locations throughout such communities to promote such efforts for children during this time of the year.
The United States Marine Corps Reserve run the Toys for Tots program. New and unwrapped toys are collected during October, November, and December and are then distributed during Christmas to children in need in their respective communities. The goal is that the toys will bring a message of hope to such children so that they can become productive and responsible citizens.
The Prince William County Police Department has over 700 sworn police officers and is made up of four division and 13 bureaus that include specialty units, patrol services, and support and investigative resources.
From 10:00 am to 2:00 pm this Saturday, November 20, Santa’s Helpers and the Community Engagement unit of the police departments will be collecting items at the Walmart Supercenter in Dumfries, which is on Jefferson Davis Highway. Those who cannot make that date can also drop off toys at any Prince William County Fire and Rescue station or office.
