The first Whole Foods grocery store in Prince William County will be coming to Woodbridge.
It will be an anchor tenant at the mixed-use development, Quartz District, which is currently being proposed. The Quartz District will be at the intersection of Minnieville Road and Prince William Parkway and span 145 acres. The plan for the project is to have over 100,000 square feet of restaurants and retail space, 235,000 square feet of commercial office space, an adventure park, and 1,000 residential units.
The Mitchell Phelp family and Buchanan Partners are collaborating on the project. The developers see the project as a destination that is walkable and accessible to both drivers and pedestrians. It is also hoped that the Whole Foods store will attract other tenants. Such projects may involve local Print shops to create Flyers and other printed materials to promote such tenants and the benefits of such new developments.
Kingsley McAdam, principal at Buchanan Partners, expressed his excitement about the announcement that Whole Foods will be part of the Quartz District. He added that his belief is that businesses, residents, and the surrounding communities will find Whole Foods Market to be very valuable to this new development in the county.
The start of construction and the opening of the Quartz District have yet to be determined.
