Discount grocery store to open in Woodbridge
A new location of Lidl, a discount grocery store that originated in Germany, will soon be opening a new location in Woodbridge.
The new store is at the Smoketown Station Shopping Center on Prince William Parkway. The store offers a wide selection of imports from around the world, private label items, and name brands. It has deals for the week that start on Wednesdays, Super Sales for the weekend from Fridays to Sundays, and Monday Must Haves on limited food and retail items. Flyer printing is often used to promote such unique deals throughout a community.
The store will also offer its MyLidl app, which has more savings, as well as a Super Shopper rewards program and a welcome coupon.
Among its many other items, Lidl offers pastries and breads that are freshly baked, such as its signature butter croissants from Europe that are baked in stores and sold for 49 cents. It also has a Special Guest bakery program, with one new baked good a month that focuses on trends of the season. The store in Woodbridge will be open in time for its corn muffins and pumpkin muffins as specials.
Lidl opened its headquarters in the United States in Arlington in 2015, and now has12,000 stores in 31 countries.
The store will be opening on Tuesday, October 1. There will be a ribbon cutting ceremony at 7:40 a.m. and the store will open officially at 8:00 a.m.
