The Virginia Caribbean American Cultural Association will be hosting a party at the Spirit of Norfolk next month after Caribfest.
The Xhale After Party Boatride is an event that welcomes those who are over the age of 21 to board a three-deck ship and party after the festivities of Caribfest come to an end. There will be music provided by multiple DJs, in addition to heavy hors d'oeuvres. A cash bar will also be available to purchase beverages from during the trip. Attendees coming to the after party are encouraged to bring flags representing their islands.
Caribfest is an annual cultural festival that features performances from bands playing Latin, African, Caribbean, and jazz music. The event will include international food vendors, in addition to arts and crafts exhibits. A Mardi Gras costume parade will also be held during Caribfest, with street performers like stilt walkers and folklore characters. The Xhale After Party Boatride will be held on August 17 from 11:00 pm to 3:00 am. Tickets can be purchased online for $60 by August 15. No tickets will be sold at the pier where the boat is leaving, so attendees must buy their admission in advance.
