Norfolk garden to light up with seasonal display
The Norfolk Botanical Garden (NBG) will open its seasonal award-winning lights display in November.
The Garden of Lights is an annual holiday program organized by the Norfolk Botanical Garden that turns its grounds into a twinkling display that features over a million lights. The venue will have many special events, including Barks and Bulbs, Date Night, and NBG Member Exclusive Nights. There will also be food vendors at the garden, such as Bear House Coffee Roasters and Classic Kettle Corn of Chesapeake. Money from the event will support the garden’s mission.
The Norfolk Botanical Garden is a landmark that was made in 1939 and was originally known as the Norfolk Municipal Gardens. Many activities have been held here, including the International Azalea Festival and the Sunday Dog Days. People can become members of the NBG for $90 and receive benefits like discounts on plant sales and classes at the gardens. Those who pay $2,500 to become a Garden Magnolia Patron will receive boat tour tickets and access to exclusive events.
The festive lights display will be open to the public on November 8th, and the event will run until January 4th. Tickets will cost $24 for adults and $15 for children. Members of the NBG will receive discounted admission. There are also premium nights that will have higher ticket prices. Gardens in charge of holiday events like this may use flyer printing to share their special programs with others.
