The Virginia Zoo in Norfolk will have an event in May where families can learn about various birds.
Running Wild: Feathered Friends is a series offered at the Virginia Zoo where children can experience the outdoors while learning fun facts about animals. The event will teach kids about what birds they can find during May. Families will get to play in natural spaces and partake in various bird-themed activities. The program is recommended for children who are in grades between Pre-K and 2nd.
The Virginia Zoo will be taking many precautions to help keep visitors safe while attending the event. All activities will be conducted outside to keep guests socially distanced, and there will be minimal touching of program supplies. Each guest over the age of five will be required to wear a face covering. The event materials are sanitized with alcohol or UV lighting, and hand sanitizer will be available for participants. Organizations like this can use poster printing to provide customers with easily noticeable reminders to follow safety guidelines.
The activity will be held on May 23 from 9:30 am to 10:30 am. The cost for non-members of the zoo will be $25 per pair of adult and child. Members of the Virginia Zoo will only pay $5 per parent and kid. The fees will include zoo admission for the day.
