For Leesburg locals looking to do something a little different with the family this year to celebrate the holidays, Leesburg Animal Park is hosting a Christmas Village.
The offering will be set up for three weekends prior to Christmas Day, and will feature activities designed to be enjoyed by the whole family.
The Christmas Village will take place partly indoors in the Village’s new facility and outdoors in a common area and around the 21-acre park, all of which will be decorated in thousands of holiday lights.
There will be a host of arts and crafts on display, as well as a Kids’ Indoor Play Zone. There will also be plenty of animals of course, some of which can be touched and fed, such as llamas, donkeys, bunnies, ducks, goats, sheep, pigs, and deer. Children will also enjoy pony, camel, and wagon rides.
Guests will have opportunities for taking photos with animals, and pictures can be used for making Holiday Cards. Visitors can also visit exotic exhibits that feature zebras, camels, gibbons, and several types of feral African cats. Kids can burn off energy if need be at the indoor and outdoor playgrounds.
The village will run for the weekends of December 4th and 5th, 11th and 12th, and18th and 19th, from 6:00 until 9:00 pm each evening, at the Leesburg Animal Park, 19270 James Monroe Highway, Leesburg.
