Banshee Reeks Nature Preserve in Leesburg will hold the March Animal Tracks Hike next month for anyone interested in learning about how to track native animals in their own backyard.
Banshee Reeks Nature Preserve features 15 miles of hiking trails traversing 699 acres and has been designated a Virginia Treasure for its mission of preserving and protecting land and expanding public access to outdoor recreational activities. The preserve also includes a fishing pond, wetlands, natural play area, nature center, and historic structures. Various nature programs are held at the preserve throughout the year for the public to enjoy, such as the Animal Tracks Hike this March.
The hike will be led by a Virginia Master Naturalist and will take participants on a one-to-two-mile trek through the preserve. The naturalist will provide attendees with plenty of beginner-friendly tips and techniques on how to identify animal tracks. Participants will leave the hike with a special pocket guide of prints.

The animal tracks hike is scheduled for March 15 from 9:30 am to 11:00 am. Banshee Reeks Natre Preserve is located at 21085 The Woods Road, Leesburg. Hikers will meet at the visitor center, and it is free to attend.
