Leesburg childrens art camp to explore iconic artists

Next month, the ARTventures art camp will be held in Leesburg, offering a chance for kids to learn about a variety of iconic artists and their work, as well as explore their own unique creative styles.

Hosted using Providence Academy as a venue, the ARTventures summer camp is part of the SciGenie NOVA initiatives, which teach students integral STEM skills through afterschool activities, science parties, and summer camps. These activities are led by expert STEM instructors and feature high-quality, interactive curriculum. The summer camp in Leesburg will be held at the end of June into beginning of July.

The camp will take place on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, with Friday being off. Each day, campers will learn about a different iconic artist, from Pablo Picasso and Frida Kahlo to Andy Warhol. They will study the different styles and techniques of each artist and then create a masterpiece of their own. These student masterpieces will be showcased at the end of the week at a special exhibition for family and friends.

Organizers of art programs like this will often rely on their local Print shops and Stationery printers to supply appropriate art supplies, such as ink, paint, and paper.

The ARTventures camp is slated for June 29 through July 2. Providence Academy is located at 835 Lee Avenue SW, Unit 604, Leesburg.
