Leesburg organ donation seminar to prepare healthcare professionals
Infinite Legacy in Leesburg will hold the Free Donation Resource Specialist Training Program next month to train healthcare professionals working in critical care settings about the organ donation process.
A nonprofit organization, Infinite Legacy works with organ procurement and the donation process. The organization is based in Maryland but serves over 10 million people in Maryland, Washington DC, and Northern Virginia. Infinite Legacy facilitates organ, eye, and tissue donation as well as educates the public on the importance of being an organ donor.
The Donation Resource Training Program will train healthcare professionals such as doctors, nurses, fellows, and residents on best practice in the organ donation process. Attendees will learn the necessary steps for donor evaluation, including clinical triggers for referral; how to evaluate the two paths of organ donation, Donation after Brain Death and Donation after Circulatory Death; how to identify the steps in the donor management process; and how to preserve and protect a family’s donation options.
Training intensive seminars like this may include printed materials to ensure an effective learning environment. Organizers may seek out the services of shops specializing in brochure printing and similar services to prepare.
The donation resource training is scheduled for January 30 from 7:30 am to 4:00 pm. It will be held at Inova Loudoun Hospital, located at 44045 Riverside Parkway.
