Independence celebration to light up Leesburg

There will be an Independence Day celebration in Leesburg this July.

The event will give families the opportunity to join in the festivities with millions of other residents. The celebration is a two-part affair. It begins with the grand float, where local organizations will have the opportunity to decorate a float in any way that they like, fitting the theme of Independence Day. Each participant will have the opportunity to vie for the annual Patriot Cup competition, which awards the best parade float.

The second half of the celebration will be the fireworks festival, which happens in the evening at the local park. This is a picnic style event, and patrons are welcome to bring their lawn chairs or blankets as they enjoy live music, food, and the dazzling display of fireworks. Live music comes courtesy of Kevin Mac and the Homies. Patrons can look forward to a full night of fun and treats. Admission to both events is free.

Banner printing offers floats an opportunity to be inventive at events such as this one.

This celebration will be held on Monday, July 4. The parade aspect of the event happens in Historic Downtown Leesburg, while the fireworks show takes place at the Ida Lee Park. The closest location is 60 Ida Lee Drive NW, Leesburg, Virginia 20176. Attendees may follow the event Signs. The parade begins at 10:00 am, while the evening show begins at 6:00 pm.
