Sports festival to return to Herndon

Herndon residents can actively support a favorite local charity when an annual sports-based fundraiser returns to town.

Shepherd’s Center of Northern Virginia has announced the Annual Pickleball & Golf Festival 2025. This is the largest fundraiser for the organization and funds many of its ongoing projects, including senior transportation, personal enrichment programs, and various support services. Flyer printing and other products from Print shops can be used to publicize such events.

The golf tournament has a unique twist, in that it will be played on golf simulators. Prize categories for golfers include Closest to the Pin, Longest Drive, Hole-In-One, and an overall prize for the tournament winner. The pickleball portion, meanwhile, will feature instruction aimed at newcomers to the sport, while doubles play at various skill levels in a round robin format.

Shepherd’s Center of Northern Virginia has existed since 1998 and has a dynamic presence within the community, largely driven by its volunteers, which number at more than 250 according to its website.

The 4th Annual Pickleball & Golf Festival will be held on Tuesday, September 16 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM. It will occur at Worldgate Athletic Club and Spa, located at 13035 Worldgate Drive in Herndon. The registration fee is $65 and must be completed in advance for participation in the golf or pickleball tournaments.
