Journal event covers popular art form

A May event will teach people how to perform a common practice, with a theme of nature added in. Herndon residents are sure to enjoy the creative and relaxing experience.

Nature Journaling is an event from the Reston Association. Daidra Briel will lead attendees through the process of keeping a journal. Guests will use conversation, observation, and crafting as they create their personalized journal. Some of the techniques used will include
watercolor painting and sketching. Reflective writing practices will also be covered, with everything drawing some inspiration from nature along the way.

Attendees will get to bring home their Journals, along with a kit of watercolors. This will help them with maintaining their new skills once the event is over. Guests are encouraged to take life at a slower pace and express themselves how they wish.

Tickets are $16 for Reston Association members. For non-members they will cost $20. Purchases can be completed on the association’s website. The event is open to those who are aged 18 and older.

The venue for the activity will be the Walker Nature Center. It is located in Reston, which is just a couple miles from Herndon. Many events held by local groups will use flyer printing as an advertising method. The experience will run for 90 minutes, from 7:00pm to 8:30pm. The date for the event is May 14th.
