Utah Business Summit takes Chinese theme
The annual Chinese Folk Art Festival will be coming to Orem toward the end of May. The festivities will focus on Chinese culture through dance, food, song, fashion, and art.
The Chinese Fashion and Food Market booths will open at noon and remain open until 6:00 pm. Stationery printers often use pictures of people in colorful Chinese costumes as subjects in their international notecard assortment packs.
From noon until 1:00 pm, a Chinese singing competition will take place in the Main pavilion. At 1:00 pm the stage will feature karaoke which will continue until 3:00 pm. From 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm there will be paper cutting and calligraphy demonstrations.
Garlic and onion bread will be available from noon until 6:00 pm at the Red pavilion, tang yuan (Chinese dessert) making and eating at the Yellow pavilion, dumpling making and eating in the Green pavilion, and steamed stuffed buns in the Blue pavilion.
Guests can take the hiking trails and watch the dragon dances from 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm.
General admission tickets for guests seven years old and older will be $10 and can be purchased online at the event’s website. Children under seven years old may get in for free.
