What's Happening in Orem, UT…

Cooking workshop boosts flavor in Orem

A cooking class is being organized in Orem for next month, with the focus of the class on taking produce from the garden and using it in savory meals.

The Garden to Table Recipes workshop has been officially announced, helping Orem residents learn how to maximize the flavor of the produce coming from their gardens. The class will be led by Nancy Nielson, a resident of nearby Lindon with a love of cooking. Nielson will give attendees ideas on how to use the fruits and vegetables they grow for nutritious family meals.

She will share her newest recipes, and attendees will want to bring a pen and paper to take notes on what they learn. Printing services can make copies of such documents to share with friends and family or to create backup copies for future use. The plates guests learn about will include sauces, entrees, salads, and desserts.

The workshop will have Nielson doing the cooking, with attendees getting to sample each item she makes. Guests will also have the opportunity to hear a guest speaker share information about the Eat Clean and Live movement, founded by Kerry and Nancy Nielson.

Sun River Gardens in Orem will host the cooking workshop on Saturday, September 13th, from 9:00 to 11:00 AM. Tickets are $50 per guest, and recipes and samples are included.
