What's Happening in Orem, UT…

Avalanche education helps Orem stay safe

Avalanche season is right around the corner in Orem, and area residents with a love for outdoor activities can learn the signs for safe adventures in the future.

The Know Before You Go: Avalanche Awareness Training class has opened enrollment in Orem for next month’s session, allowing area residents to gain essential knowledge for safe and memorable adventures. The event, which is open to the public, will be taught through the Utah Avalanche Center.

The learning session will use minimal science to teach about safety and awareness, along with no formulas that participants will need to memorize. The goal is to allow area residents the confidence and knowledge to enjoy safe hiking, skiing, and snowboarding experiences. Brochure printing can provide a convenient resource for educators to share more information in one document with attendees and students at such learning events.

Attendees will see and learn about the destructive power of avalanches and gain a new understanding of when, why, and how they happen. Students will learn the tips they can use to have fun in the mountains when snow is abundant while maintaining their safety. It is open to guests 12 years of age and older.

The learning experience will be held at 58 North State Street in Orem, and is scheduled for Tuesday, January 6th, at 6:00 PM. Interested parties can register online.
