Competition showcases Orems best gingerbread houses
A competition is being organized in Orem this month that will test the creativity and artistic skills of locals through the construction of gingerbread houses.
The 8th Annual Gingerbread House Competition is getting ready to take competitors into a world of enchantment and sweets, where local bakers and other interested parties will use their skills and vision to build the best gingerbread houses possible. Attendees will get to check out the most magical and whimsical creations entered into the field.
The finished gingerbread houses will be placed on display for a week, allowing voters to examine each and weigh their options before casting their final decisions. A giant gingerbread house will also be viewable at the host venue, courtesy of Peter Tidwell, also known as the Mighty Baker. Print shops can provide professional marketing materials to help organizers promote such events in the community, driving attendance and leading to more memorable experiences.
The event will provide a family-friendly experience to help local families get ready for the holiday season. Tidwell will join Mary Crafts of Mary Crafts Inc. and Nothing Bundt Cakes’ Tamara Morrison as judges for this year’s competition.
The competition will be held at Santa’s Village by Village Court in Orem. Participants must have their completed gingerbread houses displayed by Monday, November 24. The top prize is $1,500, and registration costs $10 online.
