New nonstop flights from San Antonio

Frontier Airlines recently announced that it has added six new flights to those it operates out of San Antonio International Airport.

Three of the flights will operate all year, while the other three will operate seasonally, according to an article in My San Antonio.com.

The three routes that will operate all year are nonstop flights to San Diego, Phoenix, and New Orleans. They will leave San Antonio a minimum of three times weekly as of October.

The airline is beginning the service by offering introductory fares starting at $39. San Antonio's aviation director, Russ Handy, said the new flights will have a significant positive impact on tourism and business among the cities. The routes the airline will operate only seasonally are those between San Antonio and San Jose, Orlando, and Cincinnati.

Frontier, which is based in Denver, has expanded significantly in San Antonio, from which it now flies 11 routes. It pulled out of San Antonio in 2012, but returned in 2016 with a nonstop flight to Philadelphia, and other routes to Las Vegas, Denver, and Atlanta.

Jim Faulkner, a Frontier spokesman, said the company recognized a demand for low fares, and that San Antonio has “responded very well” to Frontier since it returned to the city.

Companies like this frequently work with brochure printers to create Brochures showing the new routes, and distributing them at the airport.
