A new production of a show that is popular around the festive season will be making its debut in San Antonio in late November.
A Charlie Brown Christmas is originally an animated television special, using characters from the Peanuts brand, which features characters created by Charles M. Schulz. The special itself was made by Lee Mendelson and Bill Melendez. This version for the stage was put together by Eric Schaeffer. Special arrangements were crafted by Ruby Persson and Arthur Whitelaw. The San Antonio production is sponsored by a pair of organizations, which are Whataburger and Valero.
The story of A Charlie Brown Christmas sees the titular character struggling to understand what the real meaning of the festive season is. Even with gifts, cheerful friends, and decorations everywhere, something still doesn’t feel right. Brown decides to assume the position of director of his school’s Christmas play, getting some help from friends like Snoopy, Lucy, and Linus as he goes.
The show is being presented by San Antonio’s local venue, Magik Theatre. Tickets are available on the venue’s website. The prices are $30 for adults and $25 for children, with the exception of the special “pay what you wish” performance. Flyer printing is a popular way for many theaters to promote their productions. The festive play will start taking the stage on November 22nd, from 2:00pm to 3:00pm. Other November dates include the 23rd, 25th, 26th, 28th, 29th, and 30th.
