Members of the brushfoot butterfly family, monarch butterflies are well known for their long-distance migration, and they, and other pollinators, will take pride of place in a San Antonio festival.
Project Bloom will present the 11th annual Monarch Butterfly and Pollinator Festival, and this free celebration will be held at Brackenridge Park. It will be an immersive experience the whole family may enjoy, with a goal for everyone to walk away with a deeper appreciation for the role these organisms play.
The festivities will include activities such as the Monarch Migration Obstacle Course. The Lights Out! Bird City Maze is also in the works, providing a fun way to learn about how turning out the lights at night can aid migrating birds and butterflies alike. Everyone can pick up a free seedling for as long as supplies last, and food, live music, a not for profit fair, and new for this year, the 10,000 plus attendees that are anticipated can take advantage of the Bee Line Old Town Trolley and parking assistance.
When organizing a signature event, a not for profit group may require everything from vendor contacts and Letterheads to prepare donation requests to branded caps to help make it easier to spot the volunteers in the crowd. A printing services company will be pleased to lend a helping hand.
The 2026 Monarch Butterfly and Pollinator Festival will return to San Antonio on October 3rd. The festivities will open at 9:00 am.
