Rockwall event to feature skilled painter

An early April lesson in Rockwall will see an accomplished artist share their knowledge with participants.

Debora Schubert Lytle is a painter and former art teacher. While her portfolio has other subject matter such as flowers, still life, and landscapes, portraits make up the majority of her work. These are typically pieces created to celebrate a milestone in the subject’s life, or to honor someone who is no longer here.

In the case of this event, Lytle will be teaching attendees how to work with oil paints to create an image with a theme of florals. She will bring the canvases as well as the paints, and the objects that will serve as the reference for the artwork. A few easels will be available if a student is unable to bring a tabletop version.

Everyone will need to gather a few other items in addition to the easel. These include brushes, a solvent, a palette and palette knife, and paper towels. Specifics on the brushes and other materials are listed on the event’s page on the Rockwall Art League website.

Admission to the Floral Oil Painting Workshop is $150. Everyone will need to pack a lunch. The venue is set to be the Harry Myers Community Center, and the date is Friday, April 5, with the event time being 9:00am to 4:00pm.

Flyer printing is a frequent form of advertising for events held at a community center, as well as painting classes.
