Rockwall residents who want to celebrate the Juneteenth holiday will have a community event to look forward to, offering a reminder of freedom, perseverance, and culture.
The Juneteenth Fest, which is being presented by EmpowerED Outreach, is getting ready to welcome attendees who wish to celebrate history and liberty with a family-friendly gathering in Rockwall. The gathering will be centered on connection while shedding light on Black culture in the Dallas-Fort Worth area and beyond, dating back to the American Civil War.
The organizer’s mission is to provide empowerment and resources to those in the community who need them most. Visitors can expect energetic music from a DJ, live music performances from local artists, food trucks with meals and snacks for purchase, as well as vendors and local businesses, who can invest in business card printing to increase the ease of connecting with attendees at festivals like this.
Interested parties are encouraged to bring their family and friends, and a positive attitude to celebrate freedom as a community between enjoying empowerment-focused experiences. Guests can bring lawn chairs from home to be part of what is shaping up to be a safe and memorable event.
The Robert Smith Family Park in Rockwall will host the celebrations on Saturday, June 20 starting at 10:00 AM. Admission is free and open to the public.
