Rockwall event teaches nature-related skill

A January event is educating the Rockwall area on a gardening technique.

Let It Sow: A Winter Cut Flower Class is an activity from the Rockwall County Master Gardener. The instructor, Donna Fernandez, will guide participants through how to start the process of growing various flowers during winter, so that they’ll be ready to be placed in their gardens in the spring.

The lesson will cover both perennial and annual flowers. Attendees will be able to do hands-on work, making it easier to retain the information for later. Guests can also hang out with loved ones, or make friends with new people who also love plants and gardening. Learning to grow plants can be a useful skill when applied to edible items, but flowers are a decent place to start for some practice.

The venue for the experience is the Rockwall County Annex. Tickets are available for purchase through EventBrite. An individual pass for the event is priced at $12.51. This includes service fees from the website. The tickets will be sold up until the day of the lesson.

The Rockwall class is scheduled for a 9:30am to 11:30am timeslot. Flyer printing is a popular choice of promotion technique for those looking to advertise events held at city buildings. The date for the gardening adventure will be January 20th.
