Pearland plans schedule of summer concerts

The gentle cool of a Pearland summer evening can be perfect for an outdoor event, and the city has planned a schedule of open air concerts in local parks.

The city has created an agenda of performances taking place on evenings in May and June. They will be live performances, and while pets are welcome, they must be leashed and their owners will be expected to keep them under control.

Pearland’s Concerts in the Park will give community members the chance to gather, and the playground will be on offer for the kids. Everyone can spread out a blanket or unfold a chair to sit on, and they may also bring along a basket of picnic fare to enjoy. A food vendor will be on hand. While alcohol will be permitted, it must be in non-breakable containers.

There will be several volunteer opportunities available. T-Shirts and other items printed with a custom graphic design can be worn by those lending a hand at an event to help them stand apart from the crowd.

The Concerts in the Park schedule will kick off on Friday, May 3 at Southdown Park and run until June 28. Blues-rock artist Hamilton Loomis will be the first performer. A full schedule, including the location for each, can be found on the city's website. Concertgoers should note that installments may be cancelled if the weather is unsuitable.
