Pearland plans pizza-filled festival

When it comes to their favorite food, pizza tips the list for many who call Pearland home, and a local event is set to celebrate these savory slices.

The Houston Pizza Festival is on the way for the city’s food fans, and both “brick and mortar” and mobile eateries will be on the list of vendors. Independence Park in Pearland will be the venue for the festivities, and the whole family is welcome.

The schedule for the day includes an almost endless list of pizza options, ranging from a basic margarita to ones that are completely outside the box. A beer and wine garden will be on site, and live music and other entertainment is in the works. The true foodies in the crowd can test their appetite in the eating contests, and the kids can enjoy the fun on offer for them. A pop up crafters’ market is in the works, and those age 10 and under will be able to enter the function free of charge.

Food festivals are often held during the fall months, and may take place indoors or out. Those hosted outside may call for weather resistant decor and signage and a banner printing company will be happy to help.

This celebration of slices is set for October 11th, and the gates will open at 2:00 pm. The location can be found at 3449 Pearland Parkway.
