Pearland is known for being a compassionate community, and one of its upcoming events will give home cooks the afternoon off while supporting local mental health initiatives.
The 8th annual Drive-Thru BBQ fundraiser will over meals that can be picked up at the Lions Club of Pearland. Each plate is $15, and to date, the activity has helped to provide more than $2.5m of reduced and free counselling services to those in need.
People who support the initiative can pick from either a sausage or chicken, with both meats prepared by Bottomless Pit BBQ. Sides will be served as well, supplied by Central Texas BBQ. Anyone who would like to go the extra mile can opt to donate a plate for their neighbors in need.
Sponsoring a fundraiser provides a way for a business to show its home community that it cares. There is a sponsorship program in place for this activity, and there are various ways to get involved. Companies can donate Promotional Products to distribute to the attendees at a function to thank them for their support, and show how their contribution makes a difference.
