It is almost that time of year again when residents of Pearland lace up their sneakers and hit the pavement in an event that raises money in support of local law enforcement.
This year marks the 15th for the Annual Pear Run. The activity brings friends and neighbors together in an activity that encourages enjoying fresh air and exercise, and with a variety of routes to choose from, the whole family can join in the fun.
The run will begin at the Pearland Town Center Pavilion, and the first racers are set to take to the street at 7:00 am. There will be 5K and 10K runs, as well as a 5K walk and special run just for the kids. The goal of the day is to raise $50,000, and this will be used to purchase a state of the art mobile SWAT command center, which will be used during emergencies and also large events.
