To promote a sense of place, and as part of a plan to spruce up the city, community leaders are going to use pears to brighten up Pearland.
A few giant pear sculptures, laid out perhaps in a “pear art sculpture trail”, could serve as conversation pieces, as well as landmarks for residents and especially for visitors to the city. The “pear trail” could highlight important locations in the city and, with the help of a brochure printing service, the pears could be used to help visitors find their way around Pearland.
Seen as a way to nurture Pearland’s uniqueness and bolster the local economy, Pearland leaders are looking to place eye-catching Signs that will ensure that visitors know where they are as soon as they enter the city. This is being done as part of a yearlong plan to delineate the city’s boundaries and provide artistically designed Signs to mark Pearland’s entry points.
Pearland’s growth over the past decade has forced the city to concentrate its resources and attention on sewers, roads, and other high-priority infrastructure needs. Now, however, the municipality has decided it is time to shift its focus, and Pearland hopes to create a sense of identity similar to that of other nearby communities. The Woodlands, for instance, is known for its winding paths and pine trees. Pearland will hopefully once again be known for its “pears”.
