The Pearland Independent School District will be holding a job fair later this month.
Those who attend the fair will all have the opportunity to be interviewed, and job offers will also be given. Those who do get hired will receive many benefits, including full medical, vision, dental, and life insurance, and will become members of the Teacher Retirement System of Texas. Starting salaries for teachers in the Pearland Independent School District are just over $51,000.
The school district is looking to hire classroom teachers, substitutes, and tutors, as well as administrative and professional staff.
There are 32 openings for teachers in the school district, with two at the elementary schools, eight at the middle school level, and the remaining positions at the high school level. The several high schools are looking for English and chemistry teachers and coaches of several sports, while the middle school are looking for social studies, math, and reading teachers.
The school district has over 21,000 students in 23 campuses in the metropolitan area of Houston. It typically receives top ratings in the testing and accountability system.
The job fair will be from 9:00 am to noon on Saturday, April 23 at the Searcy Campus of Pearland High School. The district has prepared Flyers to be distributed throughout the area encouraging qualifying applicants to attend.
