A benefit walk, the proceeds of which will go to the Pearland VFW Post #7109 and The William Beaumont Army Medical Center, will take place behind the Pearland Natatorium. The walk will be followed by a BBQ lunch to be served at the VFW.
Pearland businesses and organizations are invited to partner with HIKE for Mental Health in its efforts to raise $15,000. The money is to assist veterans who, due to their service, suffer from mental illness. Sponsorships come in a variety of levels.
Banners printing services will no doubt contribute significantly to this event. Not only will printing companies supply Banners to advertise the event but to promote the walk’s sponsors as well.
Registration for the walk, which is takes place on November 8, is $15 per person; for an additional $5, walkers can attend the BBQ lunch, and BBQ lunch tickets for non-walkers can be purchased from the VFW.
The Honor Our Veterans - Walk for PTSD event begins with walkers checking in and registering from 8:45 am to 9:15 am. Registration will be followed by Pearland Mayor Tom Reid conducting the opening ceremonies at 9:30 am. The 5K walk itself is set to take place between 9:45 am and 11 am.
