Midland welcomes new fast food restaurant

A popular hamburger brand plans to open a new location in Midland by the end of the year.

Small Sliders, an Atlanta-based restaurant chain, is expanding into the Midland area. The father-son team behind the company plans to open more than 300 stores in the coming years and hopes to “paint Texas Smorange” with its brand. The restaurants feature a distinctive orange exterior and an intentionally limited menu.

Ramzi Hakim opened his first IHOP restaurant in 1990. Since his son joined the business, the duo has grown to operate more than 35 IHOP locations in the San Antonio region. Adding Small Sliders to their portfolio felt like a natural next step for Danny Hakim, who said:

“Having been in the restaurant industry for decades, I’ve been exposed to many emerging concepts over the years, but few have broken through the noise like Small Sliders.”

The new restaurant, recognizable by its trademark orange design, is expected to cost around $300,000 to build. Construction is scheduled to begin September 1, with completion expected by year’s end. The location will be at 2301 West Wall Street in Midland. Banner printing and other promotional services from local print shops can be used to raise public awareness of projects like these.

The first Small Sliders opened in 1991 and has since become one of the fastest-growing brands in the industry. Its nationwide expansion includes franchise locations across the Southeast, Midwest, and West Coast.
