Midland company expands local campus

EOG Resources, an oil exploration and development company, is planning a significant expansion of its Midland operations.

The company indicated plans to build a third office building on its campus on Champions Drive. According to the August 12 filing with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation, the facility will include 85,092 square feet of new office space and will be connected to existing buildings by an elevated bridge. The project is expected to cost about $33 million, with design services provided by Ambler Architects from Bartlesville, OK.

Kyle Walker, vice president and general manager of the Midland EOG division, recently stated that the project supports the company’s expansion into the Delaware Basin and is targeted for a 2027 completion date.

EOG Resources, Inc. is one of the biggest oil and gas exploration and development companies in the United States, with resources in both the US and Trinidad. According to its website, both sustainability and profitability are important to the company; in 2024, over 99% of EOG's field water was either reused or sourced from non-fresh sources, and it achieved a 99.9% wellhead gas capture rate. In the same year, the company enjoyed a 25% return on capital employed (ROCE). The company hopes to reach net-zero emissions by 2040. EOG is headquartered in Houston.
