McKinney venue celebrates six-legged set

McKinney families are about to make some new friends with six or more legs, as a celebration of the creepy-crawly set comes to the Heard Natural Science Museum & Wildlife Sanctuary.

The venue has set the date for its Bug-a-Thon, which will be suitable for all ages and will run for six hours.

The function will offer ways for people to get their feet wet when it comes to environmental advocacy, and an insect bio blitz is in the works. Moths will be getting some time in the spotlight during the nocturnal spotting and identification session, and there will be other eco-friendly activities. Advance registration is required to attend the celebration, and there will be prize draws and other excitement.

Offering the public the chance to learn more about nature can help them to become more interested in caring for the world around them. A poster printing company’s graphic design department can create souvenir Posters and other materials for an event, including unique branding.

The Heard Natural Science Museum & Wildlife Sanctuary will be introducing the area's insects, arachnids, and other minibeasts with its Bug-a-Thon set for Saturday, June 21. Its doors will open at 5:00 pm, and tickets to attend start at $15 for adults and $11 for kids ages 3 to 12. Younger children are welcome to enter free of charge.
