McKinney organizes not so spooky Halloween fun
McKinney kids will soon be donning their Halloween costumes and heading to one of its parks for a celebration filled with thrills and chills.
The community will be running its Trick or Treat Trail initiative at Towne Lake Park, and many local eateries and other small businesses have already signed on. The sponsor and booth registration system will be open until October 1, so this list may grow as its date approaches.
The trail will be approximately 1.2 miles long with a number of trick or treat stations set up to visit along the way. Participating businesses and groups will be handing out candy as well as small promotional products and other treats. Judges will be strolling through the crowd, looking for their top costume pick, and prizes will be presented to the winners. Pets may attend, but they must be leashed at all times. The function will only be mildly scary, so should be suitable even for small kids.
Taking part in themed events gives local businesses an opportunity to thank their home community for their patronage and support. One way they can do so is by donating branded corporate gifts in kind to offer as draw prizes.
McKinney will be rolling out the orange and black carpet for this afternoon of spooky fun on Saturday, October 18. It will run from 3:00 pm until 6:00 pm.
