McKinney is celebrating St. Patrick's days with a sip and stroll.
Produced by SBG Hospitality and presented by Russell Realty, the McKinney St. Patrick’s Day Beer Walk is a ticketed “sip and stroll” featuring craft beer and libations, local merchants and community charities. Guests traverse the festival area, which includes about two dozen breweries and bars downtown. Promotional Products are usually distributed at events.
Attendees pick up a souvenir beer cup and festival map at check-in. Tastings will take place at various businesses downtown, keeping this event indoors so it can happen rain or shine.
Most of the breweries/distilleries included in the tasting menu are based in North Texas. They include: TUPPS Brewery, Rahr & Sons Brewing Company, The Brass Tap, Community Beer Co., Saint Arnold Brewing Company, Lockwood Distilling Co. and Ironroot Republic Distillery.
Money raised from the McKinney St. Patrick’s Day Beer Walk goes to the nonprofit Leia’s Kids. While rain or shine seemed to focus on weather, having the festivities inside keeps everything moving along if Mother Nature does decide to dump on the event. A local vendor market and themed photo opportunities are incorporated into the event footprint, providing additional points of interest beyond beverage sampling. While the event centers on alcoholic tastings, families are permitted to attend.
The McKinney St. Patrick’s Day Beer Walk is scheduled to take place on March 14th in the historic downtown district, running from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
