A McKinney event that is set to attract gardeners from all across the surrounding area will help to bring plants to the people, and it will raise money for a local environmental center.
The staff and volunteers at the Heard Natural Science Museum and Wildlife Sanctuary are rolling up their sleeves and getting ready for its annual Spring Native Plant Sale. This activity has grown to become a local favorite, and this will be its 34th year.
The species available for purchase will be ones that have been proven to do well in the climate and other conditions found in the local area. They tend to be pest and disease resistant, while also providing food and shelter for wildlife. Some will be common cultivars, while others are rare and not often seen in the trade. Everyone is reminded to bring a basket, bag, or cart to carry their finds.
A pop-up plant market can be a good idea for a spring fundraiser, as many people will be in the market for some new additions to their own garden. Plant care tip sheets, tags, Packaging supplies and signage can all be crafted for a variety of occasions by area banner printing companies.
McKinney home horticulturists and businesses that would like to do a good turn for Mother Nature by choosing native plants are welcome to attend this special pop-up market on April 22 and 23. It will be held at 1 Nature Place.
