McKinney pool company named among the very best

A McKinney business has been chosen as the leader in its field.

Southernwind Pools was recently selected by the Association of Pool and Spa Professionals (APSP) to be the recipient of eight different awards for swimming pool design in a regional awards ceremony held in San Antonio.

John Versflet, who is the owner and presidents of Souternwind Pools, accepted the recognition on behalf of his company and its employees. All told, there were 43 enterprises that had entered to win from among the 21 categories that were being judged. They came from all over the Southwestern and Central United States.

The entries were blind-judged by a panel of 12 members of the APSP in four distinct areas: creativity, overall beauty, workmanship, and integration. The pools created by two of Southernwind’s designers were the winners in eight of the categories. This distinction can be included on the company’s premium Business Cards and other promotional items it uses to market itself.

These are just a few of the awards that the company has been given since it first set up shop in 1983. It has received many others, including the APSP’s International Gold Design Award, and was also selected by Aqua Magazine to receive its Aqua Choice award, which is limited to just 11 of the top builders from across the U.S.
