What's Happening in McKinney, TX…

McKinney paddle to explore local wetlands

Just as with many outdoor green spaces, McKinney wetlands have trails too, and these will be explored during a February paddle.

The importance of marshes, bogs, swamps and other wet areas will be the focus of an outing that has been organized by the Heard Museum Natural Science Museum and Wildlife Sanctuary. It will take place in the afternoon, and all ability levels are welcome.

Even if they have never been in a canoe before, everyone will be able to take part in the excursion. It will include a 40-minute guided exploration of the trails in the Heard wetlands. They will have an opportunity to learn about the plants and animals that call it home, and after this, they can do some paddling on their own. Instruction and any gear needed will be supplied, and the activity will run for three hours.

Those who plan outdoor activities for an organization often need to order liability waivers and other business forms. Such materials can be obtained from stationery printers along with any promotional products needed to make an event a success.

The Heard Natural Science Museum and Wildlife Sanctuary has scheduled this outing for February 19, and there are other paddles on offer as well. The registration fee is $42, and the function will start at 1:00 pm and run until 4:00 pm
