McKinney celebration to welcome arrival of holiday season

McKinney is getting ready for the upcoming holiday season, and one of the activities on its agenda will offer the look and feel of an old-fashioned family celebration.

The city will be all decked out with lights and other decor, and during Christmas in the Village, the switch will be thrown. There will be activity options for all ages, and it will be held outdoors, rain or shine.

The plans for the weekend will be filled with fun, and the vendor area will offer the public a chance to finish their holiday shopping while supporting local small businesses. The kids can mail letters to Santa and make a craft at the crafting kiosk, and a concession area will be selling soft drinks and other refreshments. Alcoholic drinks will be available for adults, and there will photo ops and even a visit from someone described as a “surprise special guest.”

Cities that host large celebrations often find that they benefit from the support of a printing services company. It can supply everything from Banners to tickets, Letterheads, and even small gifts to thank the volunteers for their help.

The Christmas in the Village weekend will welcome the public on the December 4 and 5 weekend. Both days will run from 10:00 am until 5:00 pm at Chestnut Square Historic Village.
