What's Happening in McKinney, TX…

Helping hands sought for McKinney Chamber project

The McKinney Chamber of Commerce is the voice of business in the community, and it is seeking helpers for one of its pet projects.

The organization supplies bags of brochures and other promotional products to help make new residents feel welcome and offer a fun way for companies to introduce themselves. They will be distributed along with recycling bins by Progressive Waste Solutions, and the group has set guidelines for what can and cannot be included.

Everyone who would like to get involved is asked to bring 100 items – these can be brochures, corporate gifts, flyers, or other items. It has been requested that they be dropped off no later than Friday, January 8, and each participant must help with the bagging at least once every fiscal quarter. Candy and other food is not recommended, and coupons should have an expiration date that falls at least the months from the date they are added.

The organizers went on to say that while it is open to all Chamber members, Investor Level Partners can take part free of charge. Those who are at the Business Partner rank will be asked to pay $5.

This chance to be part of a warm welcome to McKinney’s newest residents will be taking place on January 11. The project will take place at 400 West Virginia Street.
