Aroids, which includes plants such as monsteras, pothos and philodendrons, are all in the Araceae family, and they will be the focal point of an event that many Houston plant fans may have been looking forward to.
The Houston Marriott South at Hobby Airport has been chosen to host the Texas Aroid Show, which will also include a plant sale. It is being organized by Texas Rare Plant Market Vendors, and there are several different passes available for anyone who would like to attend.
The day will open with an exhibition and sale, and this will run throughout the event. Here, the attendees can shop for new items for their own plant collection, and rare and “unicorn” varieties and cultivars will be in the mix. At least 40 vendors will be on hand, and along with the aroids, orchids, carnivorous species and other exotics will be available. One of the ticket holders for the day will go home with a raffle prize of a Monstera Aurea.
As well as the market area, the function will offer learning opportunities. Swag Bags of Promotional Products will be presented to the first 50 to arrive, and parking is covered in the ticket price. Wristbands will be distributed for re-entry.
This day planned for proud “plant parents” will take place on October 26th. The venue is located at 9100 Gulf Freeway.
