The American Humanist Association (AHA) is hosting its 78th annual national conference next month. This unique conference will be held in five separate cities with a half-day schedule taking place in each, and Houston is among the hosts.
The conference will be able to be accessed through streaming for free.
The Houston section will feature speeches from Anthony Magnabosco, Dr. Hector Garcia, and Janet Heimlich. There will be a panel discussion on philanthropy featuring Noelle George and Wendy Webber.
In addition, the Heart of Humanism Awards will be handing out six awards, including Humanist of the Year which will go to author Salman Rushdie. Barry Kosmin will receive the Lifetime Achievement Award, Leighann Lord will be presented with the Humanist Arts Award, and the Humanist Media Award will go to Richard Wiseman.
The evening will finish off with the Humanist Contributors Dinner, which will be a fundraiser for the AHA.
The conference is an opportunity for networking and it is likely many attending will bring along their Business Cards. To advertise events such as this, Houston Stationery printers often provide printed Invitations that are mailed out to association members.
The Houston portion of the AHA's national conference will be held at Rice University on June 7 from 1:00 to 5:00 PM. Tickets are free of charge. For more information about the conference, call 222-238-9099.
