Houston offers childrens animal stories and hikes

The cool of a summer morning can be tailor made for an outdoor activity, and Houston families with children from the ages of 18 months to 3 years may want to check out a local program that will offer this experience.

The Houston Arboretum and Nature Center will be running its Animal Tales program starting in early June. Each instalment will run for one hour, and will wrap up with a self-guided hike.

Parents or guardians register their child in advance, and there are two start times to choose from on each date. Siblings are welcome, but must be registered individually. The attendees will enjoy a story reading as well as chance to learn some facts about, maybe even view, a live animal. After this, everyone can head outdoors for their self-guided hike. Everyone should dress for the weather and wear open-toed shoes.

Teaching kids about environmental stewardship can help them to develop a greater appreciation of the natural world. Stationery printers will be pleased to prepare information and activity sheets, as well as Promotional Products, to distribute at events like these.

The Houston Arboretum and Nature Center will open its Animal Tales program on June 1st. The start times are 9:30 am and 10:30 am, and parents wishing to register their child can find a link to do so on the Arboretum’s website.
