Houston will kick off the rodeo season with the Chevron Houston Rodeo Run next February.
More than 9,000 runners are expected to grace the annual 10K and 5K runs, with the proceeds benefiting the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo’s education fund.
Apart from the race, families may enjoy kids’ fun runs, family walks, and even costume contests. Organizers hope these qualities will complement the event and ensure everyone feels like part of the celebration. There will also be the Downtown Parade with floats and marching bands that begins immediately after the finish.
Guests are encouraged to arrive at least one hour before the start of the event to ensure they can enjoy all the different activities. For starters, there will be a wheelchair race before the main events. Organizers at events like this can, therefore, use banner printing to promote the different competitions across the city.
Attendees can participate in the festivities either in person or without attending. Those gracing the event can participate in either the 5K, 10K, or wheelchair race, while those sleeping in can sign up and receive the event T-shirt without breaking a sweat. While public parking is available for participants in the area, each garage will have its own parking fees.
Starting at Walker and Bagby Streets downtown on Saturday, February 28, 2026, the Chevron Houston Rodeo Run will end on Allen Parkway near Eleanor Tinsley Park.
