This Super Bowl weekend, Houston’s birders will be taking to the paths and woods of Archbishop Fiorenza Park for an event that will be a friendly competition to see who can spot the most species.
Dubbed “ Super Bird 60”, the activity has been organized by Houston Audubon. As it is open to birders of all skill levels, it can be a chance for newbies to work with, and learn from, those with more experience, and its organizers hope it will also be a whole lot of fun.
The competition will kick off in the mid-morning, and everyone is asked to arrive 15 minutes early so they can choose their team. These will take their names from two bird species found in the local area, and each team will try and spot as many feathered friends as they can. The first team to find 59 by noon will be crowned the champs and receive bragging rights, and the function will run for two hours.
Offering the public an opportunity to participate in hands-on activities that are also a lot of fun can help to raise awareness about environmental issues in a local area. Specialized printing services for an event can be sourced from local Print professionals.
Super Bird 60 will be celebrating Houston's feathered friends with some pre-Super Bowl fun on February 8th. Everyone is asked to arrive by no later than 9:45, and the competition will kick off at 10:00 am.
