The Space Center Houston has scheduled the 19th Annual Space Exploration Educators Conference for February 7 - 9, 2013, with registration beginning soon. The conference is intended for educators for grades K-12 and will include many activities related to science, math, history, and language arts.
Sessions will be conducted by engineers and scientists who actually work on space exploration, including a presentation regarding the International Space Station. Another session will discuss Mars exploration as well as other planet research.
Educators attending these sessions will be given hands-on experience and many ideas to implement in the classroom. The conference should present an ideal time to network with other professional educators, share ideas, and learn from each other.
Local printing companies are frequently contacted by conference planners to assist in offering Print services useful for the events. Posters are very effective in announcing events as they can concisely contain information in an interesting visual display. They are easily transported to hang or mount in pertinent areas. Similarly, brochure printers can play a role in advertising more details about a function or conference, as Brochures are generally designed with a tri-fold format offering six panels to place content and images.
The Albert and Ethel Herzstein Charitable Foundation has provided a donation to assist with teacher scholarships. The scholarships will be awarded on a ‘first come’ basis and recipient notifications will be made in December.
Registration begins in a couple of weeks, on October 1, and can be reserved via the Houston Space Center website. Educators will earn 24 hours of Continuing Professional Education credit.
