The weather outside is no winter wonderland – in fact it is pretty standard for mid-December Texas - but the holiday spirit is alive and well in Houston this year.
As a complement to all of the tinsel, lights, and other decorations adorning the city, the people of Houston have come up with a full schedule of holiday events.
Among the most popular events are the Houston Ballet’s performance of ‘The Nutcracker’, which will run through December 27. There is also the 7th Annual Gingerbread Build-Off at Hermann Square, where kids can visit Santa and enjoy a special holiday-themed play area. The German Christmas Market in Tomball is up and running still, with free admission, hayrides, and a wide variety of shops.
Other major events include the fourth annual ‘Christmas in the Park’, which will include a dramatic Christmas presentation, camel and pony rides, and a train. Locals should also not forget the family favorite Sugar Land, where more than 2.5 million lights await to astonish visitors. Shoppers still have plenty of time to get great Christmas deals as well. Several local Print companies offer discounts on late Holiday Cards, and flower shops are offering clearance prices on their remaining wreaths and holiday flowers.
It all means there is still plenty to do in Houston before and after the big day.Get a Free Quote for Holiday Cards Get a Free Quote for Print
