The 12th annual HSPVA Friends Encore Luncheon will take place next month in Houston. The event is a presentation of, and a fundraising event for, the High School for the Performing and Visual Arts.
This year’s 2018 Distinguished Alumna is author Susan Choi. Her latest novel is ‘My Education’ and she teaches writing at Yale and NYU. She has received several awards, such as the PEN/W. G. Sebald Award and the Lammy Award, as well as being a finalist for a Pulitzer Prize. Choi will also likely be giving a talk about the school and about her career. Past winners of the award have included actor Chandra Wilson and musician Jason Moran.
After the luncheon, entertainment will be provided by students of the school in the six art areas of study, including creative writing, dance, vocal music, and the visual arts.
Sponsorships can be purchased for $500 up to $25,000, and result in recognition at the event.
Houston printing companies are often asked to help advertise events like this by providing items such as Flyers and Brochures.
The HSPVA Friends Encore Luncheon will be held at the Marriott Marquis Houston on March 2 from 11:30 AM to 1:00 PM. Tickets are $200 per person or $2,500 for a table of 10. For the most current information, call 713-874-0087.
