Japanese culture and arts to combine in Houston

Anime Matsuri is coming to Houston this summer. The annual event brings Japanese culture and anime to the city.

The convention offers music, cosplay, art, fashion, anime, collectibles, and music. Animation studios, along with concert stages, bring the newest trends to the attendees.

The event began in 2007 and has grown to over 40,000 attendees. It has been recognized as one of the largest anime conventions in the country.

The three-day event brings exciting activities such as workshops, gaming and panels. Contests add to the fun. Car shows reflecting Japanese brands and style for attendees to view. Japanese concerts bring authentic music and dancing to the show, while a Japanese fashion show, touted as the largest in the country, will also be featured.

Bridging the east and the west has been the standing vision of event organizers since its inception. Cultural diversity can be experienced at this anime convention in a family-friendly setting, allowing visitors to gain an understanding of the Japanese community.

Exhibitors will be on hand to display a wide variety of products and services. Local printing services are available to assist with projects such as banner and business card printing.

The convention will take place July 9-12 at the George R. Brown Convention Center. Exhibit hall hours open at 11:30 on Friday and 9:30 on Saturday and Sunday. Tickets range from $40 to $250 and can be purchased online.
