Houston to welcome WorldFest

The international competition in film, video, and screenplays will be celebrated at the 48th WorldFest in Houston this spring.

Each year, a vast list of categories is available for entering up to four submissions. The organizers recommend considering multiple categories for submissions, as some of them receive hundreds of entries. If not considered for the first category, an entry may be considered for others on the submission form. Strict deadlines apply to submissions and should be viewed via the event website.

A VIP sponsor this year for WorldFest is InkTip. This application allows scripts that are entered to make it easy for producers and representatives to find and view the entries. Reportedly, more than 200 films have been made from scripts submitted by writers through InkTip.

WorldFest is a founding member of the United Film Festival Organization (UFFO), as well as the new FilmFreeway business, as well.

Catalog printing will produce programs that highlight the festival’s events and participants. When printed in full color, the Catalogs make ideal mementos of the event.

Premier submissions are preferred by WorldFest and receive a higher screening priority. Many celebrity producers including Steven Spielberg, Spike Lee, George Lucas, and Francis Ford have been part of the discovery history for the festival. As the World’s oldest Indie Film Festival, along with being the 3rd oldest International Film Festival in North America, the newest and most creative films are sought. The event takes place April 10 to 19.
